How Your Life Can Improve Once You Achieve Fitness and Health
HOW YOUR LIFE CAN IMPROVE ONCE YOU ACHIEVE FITNESS AND HEALTH
Here at Springfield Weight Loss Center, we believe in our clients, even if they themselves don’t at the present moment. Perhaps you are similar to many people who are ready to give losing weight one final attempt. You’ve tried weight loss pills, the Atkins diet, the Zone diet (remember that?), joined a gym, tried to swim, all in an attempt to get fit and healthy. And while those attempts might have been successful for a time, that pesky “muffin top” always seemed to make its return. Maybe it was six months later, maybe a year or two. Here at our local weight loss clinic, we believe in setting you up for success, not only for the present but for the future as well.
This is more than just a nice sentiment; it’s fundamental to our weight loss approach. We believe in a hunger-free weight loss approach that doesn’t take inordinate amounts of exercise or force you to take strange drugs. Our wellness team has a weight loss formula that is proven to be successful. Why? Not only do we understand the nuanced relationships between metabolism and nutrition, we take the time to tailor our weight loss approach based on your body and its needs. This way, we teach you about how you can keep the weight off from now on, instead of only a year or so. If you are looking for a weight loss diet that works, Springfield Weight Loss Center is worth of your consideration.
Today’s post is dedicated to helping our current and prospective weight-loss candidates visualize what their lives could look like once they achieve their optimal level of fitness and health. Although the road isn’t always easy, it’s worth it. Keep reading to get a deeper understanding as to why.
More Energy
If you are interested in learning how to lose weight, it follows that you’d be interested in reading how your life will change were you to accomplish that goal. First up on our laundry list of positive impacts is the fact that you will have more energy in your day-to-day life. And look, we get it, life comes at you fast. Between having kids, taking care of yourself, keeping a job, and making sure you’ve watched every single show and movie on Netflix, it can be difficult to find time in your day to exercise consistently.
All kidding aside, it’s not easy starting a diet or a workout regimen, but once you get into the flow of it, you might even start enjoying the routine. But we aren’t of the opinion that working out will zap all of the energy out of you for the rest of the day. In fact, the opposite is the actual case.
A University of Georgia study has discovered that the blood flow that occurs during exercise helps carry oxygen and nutrients to your muscles. Practically speaking, this means more energy throughout your day. What’s more, the study also noted that incorporating a moderate exercise routine of just 20 minutes per day, three days per week for six weeks total will help fight against fatigue. So cross “energy zapping” off your reasons not to get fit and healthy!
Confidence
While it’s not nearly as empirical as the above point, it remains true that losing weight and getting fit will give you an added measure of confidence. Your clothes will fit you better and you will be more pleased with how you are perceived. And it’s even likely that you might have more self-esteem and confidence in your social and professional interactions. There exists a trickle-down effect from achieving your weight loss goals. At our weight loss clinic in Springfield, we help you down this weight loss path.
Reduced Stress
Let’s get back to empirical research. Harvard Medical School has taken a deep dive into stress-reduction as it relates to exercise and fitness. They’ve concluded what many have suspected for a long time; working out at the gym and getting your sweat on significantly reduces your personal stress levels. More specifically, exercising helps regulate stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol while bringing your endorphin levels up. This, in layperson’s terms, means you are happier and calmer. On top of those benefits, the study goes on to explain that certain neurochemicals, dopamine and serotonin, are increased with a fitness routine. These neurochemicals will have a similar effect in the sense that they contribute to your overall calmness and mental wellness. And while exercise is not a core element of our weight loss program here at Springfield Weight Loss Center, it remains a great way to get healthier and, as we have seen, happier.
Endorphins
While we are talking about endorphins and neurochemicals, let’s go into further detail looking into the connection between exercise and happiness. The more that someone works out, the more endorphins are released in your brain in order to naturally boost your mood. Quite simply, you are doing what your body was made to do, and your body is letting you know that this is a healthy act by rewarding you with a boost in mood. A University of Vermont study noted that just 20 minutes of working out provides you with a lift in happiness. Ideally, working out for between 30-60 minutes, three to five times per week will give you the best lift, according to the same study. Getting your metabolism under control and eating right is what we help you accomplish here at Springfield Weight Loss Center, and supplementing those efforts with a consistent workout routine is only going to compound the benefits received.
Fitness Improves Your Memory And Focus
Believe it or not, studies have proven that there is both a long-term and short-term intellectual benefit to exercising. The former is long-term memory improvement, with the latter being a short-term concentration boost. Let’s take a look at each.
Memory
While you might not reap the rewards right away, the dividends are still worth pursuing. Working out increases the production of a particular growth hormone, called brain-derived neurotrophic factor, of BDNF. BDNF plays a crucial role in the formation of new brain cells, neurons, and synapses, the connections between said neurons. According to a New York University neuroscientist, Wendy Suzuki, BDNF also protects areas of the brain against long-term damage caused by stress. Said Suzuki, “The mechanism by which exercise is protective is not fully understood, but even in animals that are in terrible levels of stress, running on a wheel brings memory and brain function back to more normal levels.” This is an incredible finding, and one we thought is worthy of mention!
Focus
Suzuki also found that only 50 minutes of aerobic exercise dramatically increases one’s ability to focus on a range of activities and tasks. Although these effects are short-term, they can still last between 30 and 120 minutes! This is why so many people like to start their days with a jog or another kind of workout. It simply provides clarity and focus.
